The second most expensive Punk in the history of CryptoPunks is sold: 4,500 ETH

CryptoPunk #3100, one of the rarest NFTs in this crypto-collection, was sold on March 4th for 4,500 ETH.

One of the 9 Alien Punks from the CryptoPunks NFT collection, launched in 2017 on the Ethereum blockchain, has entered the history of the crypto industry as the second most expensive Punk sold so far.

The owner of this NFT received an offer of 4,500 ETH on March 4th, valued at the time of the sale at around $15.7 million. However, with the rise in the cryptocurrency, trading at over $3,700, the current value of the NFT exceeds $16 million.

CryptoPunks are a collection of 10,000 NFT avatars created on Ethereum, which have become one of the most representative symbols of the Crypto Art movement.

This NFT collection, initially developed by Larva Labs, was acquired with all its rights by the Web3 company Yuga Labs, the creator of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), in March 2022. Since then, the company has granted all Punk holders intellectual property rights, granting them a complete commercial license.

CryptoPunk #3100

CryptoPunk #3100 is among the 9 Alien Punks in the 10,000 NFT avatar crypto-collection. This punk has a single attribute, which is present in only 333 more avatars. CryptoPunk #3100 is also one of the 406 punks that possess a Headband, making it one of the rarest characters in the NFT collection.

On November 9, 2022, the owner of this Punk received an offer for 7,300 ETH, which were valued at that time at around $8.6 million. Its last sale, which occurred in March 2021, was for a total of 4,200 ETH, valued at around $7.58 million. Although the amount of ether paid for this Punk in its last two sales is quite similar, in terms of US dollars, the value of this crypto asset has increased by approximately 110% over the last 3 years.

The sale of this CryptoPunk was the highest in the entire NFT market this week, followed by the sale of the Art Blocks #78000049, which was sold for just over $1.8 million, and a Bitcoin ordinal, whose sale price exceeded $1.44 million.
