The growing memecoin boom reached new heights in the case of the Dogwifhat token, as an NFT associated with the project apparently sold for $4.3 million.
The information was made known by several reports published this week, since an image of Achi, the iconic dog that serves as the emblem for Dogwifhat, the memecoin that operates on the Solana network, was auctioned, which was marketed in the form of a NFT and for which they paid about 1,210 ETH valued at about USD $4.3 million at the time of publication.
The winner of the auction was cryptocurrency trader Gigantic Rebirth Ventures, who placed the highest bid for the image in question. That photo was taken in 2018 and went quite viral, to the point that it became the emblem of the popular memecoin.
As such, Achi is currently the image of WIF, a memecoin that has managed to stand out notably after appreciating more than 2,200% in the last 90 days, capitalizing on gains of 700% in the last month alone.
